What you will be doing in the Learning and Development Program:

To continue meeting the needs of both a growing business and customer base, we are seeking a dynamic and assertive Director of Asset Management to join our growing team in the equipment rental industry. This role demands a curious, confident leader with a strategic mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills and a systems-based approach to managing our diverse fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead the purchasing and warranty teams. Provide strategic business direction as it pertains to both your areas of expertise, as well as general oversight/planning.
- Strategic Fleet Management: Oversee and optimize the performance of our rental fleet, ensuring alignment with company goals. - Our CDL Drivers represent the company on the road and on site through safe driving and excellent customer service.
- Deliver, pick up, load and unload equipment at Vandalia Rental and customer sites.
- Secure all loaded equipment per company and legal requirements.
- Operate and demonstrate small and large equipment.
- Address and answer any concerns and questions the customer may have.
- Most importantly.........Be Safe and HAVE FUN!
Requirements
- Must have a CLASS A CDL with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to Stand for long periods of times, often all day
- Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently
- Must be able to able to be exposed to and work in: air conditioned and non-air conditioned, inside/outside environments (including changing weather conditions,) occasional noise in excess of 100 decibels, dirt, grease, oil and other non-hazardous chemical encounters, all other elements presented by the day-to-day operations consistent with a construction/industrial equipment rental company
- Must have proficient computer/tablet skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based applications, internet and email required
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, often whole shift
- Climb as needed; in and out of trucks and on and off of trailers
- Must have a winning attitude and a desire to have fun!

Responsibilities:
- Perform all repairs and all levels of preventive maintenance and planned maintenance on equipment
- Perform Pre-delivery Inspections on newly purchased equipment
- Perform all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and engine related repairs on all equipment (Equipment ranging from small hand-held pieces to 180’ Boom Lifts and everything in between)
- Assist customers via telephone with troubleshooting equipment issues
- Other stuff that may not be listed here, but nothing too crazy

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred 3 years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or experience with similar diesel equipment (large generators & pumps) strongly preferred.
- Must be proficient with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems (EX: electrical troubleshooting & hydraulic system troubleshooting)
- Must love to work on stuff, specifically construction, agricultural and industrial type equipment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (CDL is a plus)
- Must have a winning attitude and a desire to have fun!
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to sit or stand for long period of time, often whole shifts
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, grip, grab as needed (all the stuff you need to do as a mechanic)
- Must be able to be around dust, grease, general shop odors and other elements commonly found in construction and industrial workplaces
